Lady Amelia and Eliza Spencer recreate Princess Diana’s most glamorous look

Lady Eliza Spencer and Lady Amelia Spencer attended the celebration for Fashion Trust Arabia’s winners launching into designer store Matches at The Connaught Hotel, in London, earlier this month.

The twin sisters looked absolutely stunning in floor-length gowns with Lady Amelia donning a fabulous black velvet dress.

Lady Eliza opted for a metallic silver floor-length gown from designer Rebecca Vallance, a royal favourite.

The socialites paired their stunning outfits with black clutch bags, black heels and diamond earrings, and they both styled their blond hair in an elegant bun.

For the glamorous event, Lady Amelia channelled her late aunt in the long velvet dress with sequin embellished puff sleeves which resembled two of Princess Diana’s most iconic black dresses.

In 1987, Princess Diana attended a glamorous gala in Germany and chose a sophisticated black dress by British designer Victor Edelstein.

For the evening banquet, she combined the long velvet gown with the magnificent Spencer tiara.

In 1997, Princess Diana donned another fabulous design, a sequin embellished black dress by Jacques Azagury, to attend the 100th birthday celebration of the Tate Gallery in London.

In November 1985, Diana famously wore the Travolta dress from Victor Edelstein, another iconic black dress moment, for a gala dinner at the White House, in the United States.

On social media, Lady Amelia Spencer said about the event in London: “A very special evening spent with such talented individuals, celebrating @fashiontrustarabia winners and their new collection with @matches.”

Princess Diana’s niece added that it was “a huge honour to be a part of such a special occasion”.
