Secret Cinema, the company renowned for bringing incredible experiences to film lovers around the world, has just announced their next project: Grease: The Live Experience. This time, punters will be inducted into Rydell High to hang out with Danny, Sandy, the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds. This time around, though, there are a lot of differences in the event.

Secret Cinema presents Grease: The Live Experience is due to kick off in July and run until August. And while the events are usually held in London, this time around Secret Cinema’s home base is in Birmingham for the first time ever.

This time around – much like Secret Cinema’s Dirty Dancing event – the Grease experience will bring to life a school “fizzing with anticipation” ahead of the national Bandstand Dance Contest. And as the sun goes down, Rydell High students will be able to sing and dance their way through the iconic 1950s-set movie.

Secret Cinema’s CEO, Max Alexander, said: “For more than a decade, Secret Cinema has been known for entertaining audiences with spectacular worlds based on some of the most iconic and much-loved films of all time. And what could be more iconic and more loved than the nation’s favourite movie musical, Grease? The whole Secret Cinema team could not be more excited to be bringing to life Rydell High and the world of Grease for audiences in Birmingham this summer.”

Senior Vice President of Themed Entertainment at Paramount, Marie Marks, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Secret Cinema to bring Grease to life in the UK and are confident that audiences will be immersed in all the scenes and songs that they love from this much-loved classic film.”

Tickets for the enormous immersive storytelling experience are coming out at the end of the week, and they’re sure to run out extremely quickly, so fans ought to act fast if they want to get involved.

Tickets for Secret Cinema presents Grease: The Live Experience go on sale Friday, May 5, 2023, at 10am.

For the first time, Secret Cinema is holding its event outside of London in the UK. This time around, Grease: The Live Experience is being hosted in Birmingham.

Specifically, it’ll be held at the enormous exhibition centre NEC Birmingham, a 182,000 square metre convention hall that has more than 20 interconnecting halls.

The NEC’s MD, Ian Taylor, said: “Our versatile venue is the perfect place to host the first ever Secret Cinema event in Birmingham. We cannot wait for visitors to see the outdoors at the NEC transformed into the world of Grease and be immersed in one of the world’s most iconic movie musicals.
