High street fashion retailer New Look is set to shut another branch next month.

The New Look store located in Shirley, Southampton will be closing permanently on December 3, becoming the latest closure for the chain.

On October 28 New Look closed their branch in the Maybird Shopping Park, Stratford-Upon-Avon, following four closures the month prior.

Beverly, East Yorkshire, Bromsgrove High Street, Slough and Lancaster all lost their New Look branches in September. The Crossgrates Shopping Centre store in Leeds shut for good at the end of August.

However, New Look still operates over 400 stores in the UK and recently opened brand new stores in Grimsby and Fosse Park, Leicester.

This comes as Wilko announced a staggering return to British high streets, revealing they are set to reopen physical stores in Plymouth, Exeter and Luton at the beginning of December.

Two more unconfirmed locations in the South East and North of England are also set to open before Christmas.

The popular variety retailer announced it had entered administration in August and was forced to close all of its 400+ UK stores.

But the 93-year-old brand has seemingly been saved thanks to The Range, owned by CDS Superstores.

Alex Simpkin, Chief Executive of CDS Superstores, said: “It’s clear that there’s a huge love for Wilko and we’re proud to confirm we’ll be re-introducing the brand to high streets in Plymouth, Exeter and Luton in the coming weeks.

“We’re also glad to be bringing employment opportunities to these towns and for helping local families and communities have easy access to all the everyday home and garden items they need once again.

“This initial rollout is only the beginning of our plans for revitalising the Wilko brand on the nation’s high streets and retail parks, and we’ll be announcing further store launches and re-openings throughout 2024.”
