Iceland set to close more stores across the country – full list of affected locations

Iceland announced earlier this year it was shutting down some stores with the first locations closing their doors in February.

As part of its “cost-cutting plan”, the supermarket is planning more closures this summer with a store in Wales shutting down at the end of May and another one in England set to close in June.

The next affected location will be the Iceland branch in Beccles, Suffolk, with the company blaming the “continuous decline in business at the store”.

An Iceland spokesperson explained that they “continually review our Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse store portfolio to ensure we’re delivering the best experiences for our customers across the country”.

They added: “Across Iceland and The Food Warehouse we have a portfolio of over UK 1,000 stores, and our retail estate has grown by nearly 200 stores over the last 10 years.

“We typically open more than 20 new stores each year, creating many new jobs and contributing to the growth of local economies.

“At the same time, we continually review the retail experience offered to our customers and have always made a small number of store closures every year, as local shopping patterns change and shop leases expire. The business is currently trading very strongly, achieving record market shares.”

Iceland stores closing this summer:

Argos recently announced it will be closing a number of stores in July and August, with at least three branches affected in the UK and 34 in the Republic of Ireland.

Argos stores closing this summer:
